Hot Doughnuts and the Red Neon Sign

You know what I'm talking about! There is nothing to compare to the taste of a hot Krispy Kreme doughnut.  When they are cold, I can take 'em or leave  'em.  But when they are hot, I will be taking them.

The store I visited was on Ponce de Leon in Atlanta.

Krispy Kreme started in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1937.  If you want the full history, you can visit their
site.

I don't really want to know the full history, I want to know about the present... is the light on?  Can you tell?  Is it glowing?  I am like a moth to the flame.

I like to watch my doughnut as it rides through the rapids.

Flip and away it goes.

Heading down to the curtain of glaze in order to emerge and get placed into my box.

Grab your box and RUN as fast as you can to the table in the corner and eat them while they are hot!  The whole process should take about 3 minutes if you are a Krispy Kreme expert.  If you are a novice, you can expect 7-10 minutes.  Greenhorns don't even bother coming to the realio dealio restaurant and think they can get by with a prepackaged box from the gas station.  pshaw!

Enjoy this taste of the South!

I absolutely LOVE Krispy Kreme donuts but only when they are hot. If they get cold before getting home and you haven't eaten the entire dozen you bought, just pop them in the microwave for 10 short seconds and it's just like the HOT sign is on in your house.
