Color Me Happy

"We're getting our colors done," a friend called to tell us.
"Yay!" we replied with each one thinking their own version of "colors."  Hair color?  Best clothing to wear color?  Nail color?  Food to eat?  Spray tan?

None of the above.  The new version of "getting your colors done" means to take a personality quiz and see whether you are a Blue, Orange, Gold, or Green.  The test was fun but even more fun was to meet a month after taking the test and surprise a secret pal with a bag of goodies that characterizes her personality color. (Photos courtesy of Kim because I actually walked out of my house without my camera!!!)

We met at The Cheesecake Factory in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. We had several "responsible Gold people" who organized the party.  The "calm and peace-loving" Blues  called around to be sure everyone liked the restaurant choice and the " wild and crazy" Oranges showed up with party hats on!  We don't have any "analytical Greens in our group so we didn't have to provide any data to justify our choices.  It is fun not having to prove anything to anyone! We're doing it just because we want to...hey, did I just give a reason to justify our gathering??? I didn't need to.  There are no Greens in sight!

Here is Josie's favorite predinner libation.

We congregated in the bar area as people began to arrive.  The Golds directed everyone to their seats while the Blues looked around and admired the architecture and decorations of the restauraunt.
The Oranges  began taking photos and talking to the bartender.

Here is a gathering of citrus -  our Oranges...

Here is a Gold and another Orange.  We seem to have a lot of Oranges. Now, as I think back over our many years together, I'm beginning to see things a little more clearly...

Cricket enjoys her big bag of Golden loot.

The bags contained items that would only be of interest for that personality type - outgoing Oranges, introspective Blues, and responsible Golds

Yeah, yeah, yeah...great bags...whatever.  Now let's get to the real reason we came.

Sorry Coco, the calories don't go away if you close your eyes.

But we did have to go away... much too soon.  It was a fun night as always with these colorful girlfriends.
