Another Birthday Girl
We have another Birthday Girl. Roxie wouldn't help me roll her yard so Cindy had the no-frills no-rolls birthday edition. Although the cupcakes may be considered a little frilly, there wasn't a square of TP in sight.
Happy Birthday, Cindy!
(I'm digging your Malibu Barbie tan!)

So, you may be asking... "What is she holding?" Well, I'm glad you asked, or actually I asked for you, but I still get to answer the question. And the answer is... I made a cupcake bouquet. I'll give you a quick tour of how to assemble one.

You need a 6-inch flower pot, 6-inch styrofoam ball, popsicle sticks, duct tape, 18 inches of wired ribbon, and 20-24 cupcakes.

First, secure the ball to the flower pot with the duct tape. I "ripped" the duct tape into four skinny long strips and criss-crossed over the top of the foam. Be sure to leave the tape long enough to stick to the flower pot but do not let them go longer than the lip of the pot so that the ribbon will cover it later.

Use the popsicle sticks to place in the foam to secure the cupcakes. You can use the scissors to poke through the tape if you need to place a cupcake on a taped spot. Here is my stick for my first cupcake.

Use a sharp knife to make a slit in the cupcake paper. They go on the sticks much faster.

I used different sizes of cupcakes but you can use all the same size and it still looks nice. I have seen some people put tissue paper between the cupcakes at this stage to help fill in the bouquet so you don't see the green styrofoam.

Frost with lots of frosting. If the cupcakes get heavy, secure with another popsicle stick underneath. You can also place the bouquet in the refrigerator to firm up the cake part.

Here is a pretty bouquet for any birthday girl. Have a happy day, Cindy Lou!
