Cheddar Garlic Biscuits
Pass the mints because these are some good garlic biscuits that I know you won't want to pass up.

Cheddar Garlic Biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup shortening
1 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 to 3/4 cup buttermilk or milk
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons melted butter
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Use a pastry knife or table fork to cut shortening into flour until mixture has small pea-sized lumps. Mix in cheese. Add enough buttermilk to make a soft dough. Scoop biscuit mix onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 14 - 16 minutes or until golden brown. Add garlic powder to melted butter and brush on top of baked biscuits. Serve warm. Makes 8 large or 12 small biscuits.
Step 1: Cut shortening into flour mixture.

Step 2: Add cheddar cheese.

Step 3: Add buttermilk to make a soft dough. Scoop onto a cookie sheet and flatten the balls with the back of the scoop. I made 8 large biscuits. In the photo, four have been flattened and four are awaiting their squishy doom.

Step 4: Bake and then brush with the garlic butter. Eat!!! Eat!!! Eat!!!
