Button Tree

Do you have lots of buttons?

I mean LOTS of buttons?

If you do, then grab a 12" foam cone and some pins and you can get started on this Button Tree for Christmas.

I actually "auditioned" this craft for the previously mentioned girls' weekend but it proved to be too much to accomplish in the time frame allocated, and I know that no one wanted to get off track from my schedule. (Actually I think everyone wanted to get off my schedule. Do you think the clipboard and whistle were too much??? It was mutiny, I tell ya! Just kidding. All were gracious and we had a great time.)

I used about 400 pearl headed pins and about 600 buttons for a 12-inch foam cone. I had some extra pins and placed them between the buttons, but that step is not necessary. Be sure to place several buttons on with one pin to give it some texture.

The red Button Tree came out beautifully, too. Next, I want to try a white one.

This is not a difficult craft but does take a few hours to assemble unless you are zippy and don't drop every other button like I did. All in all, I loved the trees and loved the results - too bad it didn't fit in the schedule! Hopefully it will fit into yours!
