With three chefs in the kitchen, the meal was bound to be delicious.
They were wearing their finest attire and cooking up a delicious spinach masterpiece.
Spinach Dip
1 10-ounce package frozen chopped spinach, thawed
1 cup mayonnaise
1 3 ounce package cream cheese
1 small onion, peeled and minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika
a Davis sized handful of 4-cheese Mexican cheese – his personal addition to the recipe
1/2 cup Panko bread crumbs
2 tablespoons melted butter
Cook spinach in a small amount of water. Bring to a boil and cook to desired tenderness. Drain thoroughly and press out the remaining liquid. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. With a mixer, beat spinach, mayonnaise, cream cheese, onion, garlic cheeses, and seasonings. Spread in a buttered pie pan. Sprinkle top with Panko and drizzle on the melted butter. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 – 30 minutes or until top is lightly browned and bubbly in the center.
We enjoyed the spinach dip at our Game Day Kickoff dinner.
I must admit I do enjoy watching college football. I think it started with watching The Ohio State University Marching Band and the baton twirlers when I was young. Don’t forget the tuba dotting the I.
Of course now I’m a Georgia Bulldog fan. My alma mater.
UGA (pronounced UGGA) always brings me a smile.
BTW (pronounced… by the way) when I was counting my dishes, I forgot this set! Can you believe it? I even have a football helmet chip and dip bowl. Such a versatile piece (pronounced…NOT VERSATILE AT ALL.)
I’m also a Berry College football fan. We are heading out to Maryville to see their opening game. Olivia’s boyfriend is on the team. Go Vikings!
