Rainy Day and Christmas Clean Up

Rainy Day and Christmas Clean Up

According to the weather service, we have had  8 inches of rain in the last 9 days.  Much of it has run through my backyard.

Our local landmark, Starr’s Mill has been flooded.  Here is a photo of before the rain taken from the internet (sorry I don’t know who to give a photo credit to).

And now here it is today (photo credit to Fayette Citizen).

It’s a good day to stay at home and put away Christmas decorations.  I try to get my decorations down before the new year but I’m not a stickler about it.  Some people think it’s bad luck to leave them up longer than the first and some people can’t imagine taking them down before 3 Kings Day on the 6th.  Where do you fall on this debate?

I’m also cleaning the piles of paperwork that seem to stack up during the busy work week (or should I say month or maybe just saying that there may have been some unopened mail stashed away from SEVERAL months or more ago.)  I hate paperwork and try to get all my bills to come online or consolidate them so I only have to pay one source such as bundling my TV and internet or putting my car insurance with my homeowners. Even with my efforts, I regret to say that the paperwork still seems to pile up.  After my work today, I’m looking forward to a clean house and the great feeling you get when it is all tidy and uncluttered. So I guess you could call that my New Year’s resolution – clutterfree in 2016.  I’ll keep you posted how that goes.2.

I like to get my Christmas decor put away before the New Year.
