I was given a plant several years ago from a student and the tag said Stevia and they told me it was Stevia and I thought it was Stevia, but when I look on the internet I can’t find any flowers that match my “Stevia” plant.
The bloom is very bushy and fragrant. Each floweret is purple with an orange center.
The bush it grows on is about 8 feet tall and getting bigger each year. I cut a few of the flowers each year but I don’t overdo it. I cut back my gardenia bush in the front yard and it has taken several years for it to bloom again. I’m not a particularly skilled horticulturist.
Did you notice the vase? I VERY CAREFULLY brought that back from Germany in my carry-on luggage in 1990. I was on my honeymoon and this was my prized souvenir.
I bring it out once in a while for some enjoyment. I’m always afraid I will break it because the glass is very delicate so I don’t use it day-to-day. But, I do like to use everything I own and try not to save items for special occasions. If I like it, I pull it out even if it’s just for me. I’m a special occasion 🙂 and so are YOU!!! So, I bring out the good dishes and the prettiest jewelry! Celebrate with me the gift of one more day on this earth.
That is a budleia bush, commonly known as a butterfly bush…I have a dwarf one growing in my garden…butterflies love them.
My friend Gina just told me that, too! Good thing I didn’t try to put the leaves in my tea!!
Now I want to go buy a real Stevia plant.
Humming birds love them too!
I believe that is Butterfly Bush.
