The Pig and The Pint

The Pig and The Pint

Local restaurant alert!  If you live near the Atlanta airport you will want to try The Pig and The Pint.  I went there last night with two of my birdie friends.

Terri ordered the shrimp hushpuppies.  Very good and not too fishy tasting. I am a reluctant seafood eater so I don’t like my fish to actually taste like fish.

I love their drinking glasses.  It is so refreshing to not have to drink from a Mason jar.  I will be extremely happy when the canning jar drinking vessel restaurant fad disappears. Jars are for preserving summer’s bounty NOT for drinking and trying to figure out how to keep from dribbling over the rim of the jar that was NOT MEANT FOR DRINKING.   Then, of course some idiot comes along and puts handles on Mason jars further entrenching this ridiculous notion of drinking from storage containers.   These glasses were charming and dribble-proof.

The atmosphere was rustic casual and not too loud for good conversation.

My sandwich was named the Barnyard Pimp. It was a marinated and fried boneless chicken breast, sharp cheddar cheese, avocado, bacon, and apple bbq sauce served on a Vidalia onion bun.  Other than the name, I enjoyed it very much. My side was macaroni and cheese.  No clever name for it.  Just cheesy and good.

Another biscuit recipe for the Biscuit Bus tomorrow.  Can’t wait to share!
