The Last of the Storm

The Last of the Storm

We got a nice burst of snow in the early morning hours to add to the ice from yesterday.

We lost power off and on for 24 hours but it never got cold in the house.  The longest we time without electricity was about 4 hours but we lost it about 4 or 5 other times, too.  I definitely take electricity for granted so losing it was an eye opener.

The sun came out and the blue skies made for a beautiful picture.  This is the top of a sweetgum ball tree.

The pine trees were bending under the weight of the ice.  Many snapped off.

When you don’t have anywhere to go and your house doesn’t get smashed from tree limbs, you can enjoy the beauty of the ice!!!  Otherwise, ice storms are not very welcome around here because of all the trees.  They don’t come around very often, but when they do, our world stops for a little while and for me, that’s okay.
